According to the book of Genesis, a curse fell on Earth because of man's disobedience to God's direct command. That changed a once perfect relationship between God and man (Romans 5:12). At a certain time in history, roughly two thousand years ago, as prophesied in Scripture, God chose a virgin named Mary to conceive and birth this God-man (Matthew 1:23). As an adult, Jesus called together and taught a group of twelve, as well as, crowds of people who gathered to listen to Him. During His lifetime, many believed He was who He said He was. He chose to submit to the Father's plan and die as the ultimate sacrifice, paying for our sins (Mark 10:45; John 3:16; Hebrews 9:12). Showing victory over what had become natural to earthly existence, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and took His royal position once again (Romans 5:8). Acknowledging Him as our Savior and LORD by our individual faith in His life, death, and resurrection is the only way to have certainty of the eternal life He offers to each of us (Mark 1:15).
